HIGHLY FRICTION MODIFIED ATF SUPPLEMENT

Q1. What is the difference between Smart Blend Synthetic Highly Friction Modified and Dexron® III ATF?6001

A1. Both Dexron® III and Smart Blend Synthetic Highly Friction Modified ATF's are similar base stock fluids. The major differences are contained within the specific or individual additive package requirements to meet both performance and technical specifications and requirements of OEM's. Dexron® III is the most common type of ATF utilized within the North American factory fill and service markets. Dexron® III is a highly stable ATF with heavy detergent packages, while (HFM) or Highly Friction Modified ATF contains friction modifiers that promote smoother shift quality in efforts to obtain the imperceptible shift quality.

Q2. If a service technician installs Dexron III ATF in a vehicle that requires (HFM) Highly Friction Modified ATF, will it cause immediate transmission failure?

A2. This is a trick question, in most cases NO. However if the vehicle that is being serviced has excessive clutch wear due to excessive usage or improper maintenance, transmission failure can occur. Often one will notice drivability concerns in the form of torque converter lock up shudder prior to transmission damage.

Q3. What brands of ATF are categorized as Highly Friction Modified Fluids (HFM) or Specialty Lubricant Fluids (SLF)?

A3. The following OEM Fluids are the most common Highly Friction Modified Fluid brands.
Mopar® (7176) ATF + 3      Mopar® (MS 9602) ATF + 4
Honda® Genuine ATF         Mitsubishi® Diamond ATF
Toyota® Type T               Toyota® Type T II
Toyota® Type T IV Hyundai® ATF AND MORE

Q4. Will installing Smart Blend Synthetic Highly Friction Modified ATF Supplement alter or effect manufacturer's limited warranties?

A1. Yes, Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant is a Universal product that is safe to install in all automatic transmission applications.(except Ford Type F & CVT applications)

Q2. What is the difference between Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant and competitive brands of transmission protectant products?

A2. Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant (ATFP) with its specially formulated synthetic technology treats the ATF improving the thermal stability and sheer stability of the transmission fluid, thus allowing the transmission fluid the ability to remove heat from the transmission extending fluid and transmission life maximizing transmission fluid performance. Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant is suspended in the ATF and does not absorb into the transmissions clutch plate friction material, allowing Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant to work instantly to eliminate unwanted torque converter lock-up shudder. Competitive transmission products are often manufactured with low-level mineral oil components and additive packages. These components and additive packages are often very similar to the additive packages already contained within ATF and provide little or no additional protection or performance benefit to the ATF or transmission.

Q3. Will Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant stop or eliminate transmission fluid leaks?

A3. No, Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant will not address transmission fluid leaks. Smart Blend Protectant does not contain seal swell additives. Automatic Transmissions are internally pressurized systems with hundreds of internal moving components. Additives containing stop leak chemistry or seal swell products can prove detrimental to automatic transmissions. Stop leak transmission products, can cause seals and O-rings to become brittle and flake. These particles can easily become lodged in the transmissions valve body restricting fluid flow, creating pressure problems or transmission failure.

Q4. Will installing Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant affect vehicle manufacturers limited factory warranties?

A4. NO, installing Smart Blend Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant is totally safe, and will not alter or affect Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) limited warranties.
